About

You should probably know a little bit about me before knowing anything about this blog.

My name is Monique Flores. I grew up deep in the Rio Grande Valley in a city called McAllen for the first eighteen years of my life. Now I’m a junior at Texas State University studying Mass Communications with a minor in Theatre.

I consider myself a very passionate person. I’ve always been undoubtedly passionate about storytelling. Storytelling through film creates a feeling unlike any other and there’s just something special about watching a story unfold before your eyes. In the future, I’ll hopefully have the opportunity to tell my stories through film.

This blog will be my way screen-shot-2016-11-06-at-6-16-49-pmof investigating what movies are special to people, why those movies are special, and how those movies create special moments. I believe it’s those moments that make a movie great.

But in order to tell a great story, the storyteller must first understand his or her audience. And that’s really what it comes down to, I suppose. I want to understand my audience and learn about the true power of creating movies that inspire others. I think Ms. Hepburn put it best:

“Everything I learned I learned from the movies.” – Audrey Hepburn

So, let’s talk about movies.
